Here at Finding Your Past, the possibilities are endless. You've probably heard the terms census records, ancestral lines, family tree, family history, surname research, wills and probate records and genenalogy all used in the TV series's Who do you think you are and Heir Hunters, but would you really know where to start looking, which records to research, who your ancestors were, where they lived, what they did for a living? The list's are endless. We take all the hours of endless research away from you and trace and research your ancestry and ancestors, their lives and occupations, where and how they lived and create your family history for you.

Our research packages have been designed with you (and a budget) in mind for those who are curious and wish to know a little about their ancestors, to those who require an in-depth report on their genealogical descendants that include your own stories, pictures, maps, name meanings, heraldry etc. Any of our research packages can be tailor made to suit individual requirements. Our basic research package starts at £125.00, less than an annual subscription to many of the popular ancestry research websites. Add to that some form of famiy history software system to record your findings and 100+ hours spent looking through records that could or could not be your ancestors, where you may or may not make a mistake and you've proably only spent a quarter of what you would have done when you let us search your ancestry for you.

In addition to our Research packages, there are a whole host of other services that we can provide. Our hourly rates are very competitive given our experience. Other services, such as one to one tuition, group and evening classes, guidance and advice on how to find your family history, create a family history tree through to performing a thorough check of your own Gedcom files are also available. We can also edit your research to enable your family story to be told or help prepare a written document or web site or simply look up birth, marriage and death records for you to search for family members. The choice is entirely yours.
